Agar’s Red Ale is styled on the American Amber, and is very drinkable with loads of citrus and spicy hop flavours. This is a medium to full-bodied beer with significant caramel richness.

A strong beer, pale orange in colour, that is brewed in the style of a Belgian farmhouse ale. The taste and aroma shows complex fruit and spice. This Saison is well hopped and finishes dry with a quenching acidity.

North Side is a crisp, refreshing Bohemian Pilsner, with a floral aroma, combining subtle spice from Saaz hops with a rich, bready, maltiness.

Agar's juicy New England Warrior IIPA bursts with pungent American and Australian hops delivering huge aromas of mango and orange. A soft pillowy mouthfeel and rounded bitterness makes the Warrior very easy to drink.

Agar's Tomahawk IPA is a hop-head's delight, exuberantly unbalanced with aggressive bitterness and juicy, citrusy hop flavours. The malt profile is generally clean and simple with just enough caramel sweetness to provide support.

A blond-coloured German lager in the style of the beer enjoyed in the famous beer halls of Bavaria, in other words a "Münchner Helles”. Light on the palate, with a crisp, slightly dry but pleasantly soft finish. A real drinking beer!

An dark amber coppery coloured Lager in the style of German Oktoberfest and Märzen beer. This is a beer brewed especially for Festivals - with Münchner and Pilsner malt as base malt as well as Caramel malt for flavouring. Distinctive, complex maltiness includes a bready, toasty aspect and suggests a hint of sweetness but the finish is moderately-dry. Medium body, with a smooth, creamy texture creates a fuller mouthfeel. Prost!!

50% of the grist consists of the finest imported wheat malt. This beer will stay a bit cloudy because of the top fermenting yeast used and the higher protein content of the wheat malt. Fruity banana and spicy clove like flavours meet in harmony to give this “Weissbier” its unique taste.

This vintage wine was made from carefully nurtured Chardonnay grapes, according to the traditional method, known in South Africa as Méthode Cap Classique. The wine spends extensive time on the yeast sediment giving great depth and has a delicate yeasty nose with lime and melon undertones finishing with butterscotch on the mouth

The Fyn Botanical Rum is created by gently infusing our unique botanical blend during distillation. Considered the missing link between London Dry and Genever. In the 18th Century London, this sweeter than usual gin was once illegally brewed and sold in shots through a lead pipe that came out of a sculpture of a cat, affixed to a window. According to the legend, this cat sculpture was named Old Tom. Harmony Old Tom Gin is a limited edition tribute to this sweeter, historic gin – distilled in the heart of Hartenbos in the Garden Route.

Harmony Honeybush Gin is made by distilling 10 carefully selected botanicals in small batches using a technique called vapour infusion. This technique allows the alcohol vapours to pass over the botanicals, condensing the complex aromas and flavours to form a fresher, more delicate tasting gin. A percentage of unaged gin is then married over several days, with the finest honeybush tea leaves, mixed back together and rested, enriching the texture to transform it into a delicate amber-hued gin.

To create uncompromisingly pure gin, you need the purest ingredients. Harmony Aloe Ferox Gin comprises 10 fragrant botanicals, starring Africa’s own Aloe Ferox. Our new Ginzansi series, first of which is the ‘UNITY GIN’, crafted from the heart and inspired by our beautiful Mzansi and its people. Deep, Pomegranate-Pink colour, with a hint of raspberries on the nose. Water melon fruit flavours initially set the tone, backed up with a medium-bodied, textured mid-palate. This eventually gives way to a bone-dry, long, lingering finish with an uplifting freshness at the end. Mouthwatering! This wine will pair easily with smoked fish, charcuterie, biltong and the like. The mid-palate certainly has more weight than many other rose’s but that is what makes this such an awesome braai wine. Something to wash away the dust and the heat of the early afternoon! Also great with scrambled eggs and bacon, for those who cannot wait for lunchtime, to get stuck in!!

Coming from a cooler climate vineyard, this is not your typical South African Syrah. Though it offers a beautiful dark crimson colour and layered mid-palate, the wine is more European in style. That is to say less power and more elegance. It has a delightful mouthfeel balanced by structured, though supple, tannins. The fruit is more red berry forest fruits with a touch of violets and white pepper spice on the finish. Incredibly harmonious with a long, fresh, earthy end palate that lingers long after the wine has been swallowed! A classy, well-structured, wine balanced by fresh fruit aromas, a hint of spice and beautiful supple tannins. This wine will pair beautifully with most red meats but in particular, game birds and venison or slow-cooked lamb stew. Mouth-watering in its own right, the structure and complexity of this wine will cut through the flavours of stronger flavoured dishes, while remaining elegant and focused. Dark chocolate or mature blue cheeses will also match perfectly!!

This vintage is not one to shy away from, it packs a flavour-filled and aromatic punch. Concentrated with medium body, soft acidity and a clean, refreshing palate interlaced with flavours of green apple, kiwi and grapefruit. The bouquet has floral notes of elder flower and aromas of gooseberry, litchi and grapefruit. Only slight hints of green pepper and fig. Decanting this wine before drinking will aid in opening up the wine and releasing the myriad of aromas and flavours. Serving temperature of 10°C and a recommended pairing would be aromatic foods. It does really well with Thai curry, seafood that has a tomato based sauce – I know not typical foods you would think of pairing with a Sauvignon Blanc, but this isn’t a normal Sauvignon Blanc. Often a Sauvignon is seen as a cheap and “quaffable” wine, but we aim to make wines of flavour, texture and wines that can stand on their own but are even better with food, a wine made for a night out in the restaurant with good friends.

Pungent and flavourful, you can taste and smell the change in maturity in the vineyards translated to the fruit. The season was well balanced and you can see it in the wine. Aromas of strawberry and liquorice, hints of cranberry, currents and forest floor. Your palate is treated to an array of flavours like salty liquorice, dried fruit and juicy mulberries. The wine is round and soft yet well-structured and full flavoured, with subtle yet firm tannins. To enjoy it fully we suggest you decant the wine at least an hour before drinking and serve at 16-18˚C or as a light red for summer you can serve it at 10-12°C. It is a versatile wine and can be enjoyed with a variety of foods such as, mushroom risotto, duck and game dishes, lamb or steak or simply on its own.

Inky mulberry in colour with taut, rich black berry fruit, dusty slate and quince jelly and strawberry confit on the aromatic nose. Vibrant with freshness and tension, showing good varietal character. Elegant expression with firm ripe tannin structure, super-voluptuous yet finely balanced and rounded. Wisps of smoke and roasted berries add to the complexity through to the dry, graphite mineral finish. An accomplished wine with great purity.

Rich green-gold colour with flakes of olive. The fragrance of dusty lemon and lanolin, dried herbs and freshly picked dewy lemon leaves leap from the glass. The palate is finely textured with creamy orchard fruit, underpinned by subtle vanilla oak. Lush and bright with great palate weight, rounded and harmonious with a dry, lingering preserved lemon and spice finish. Beautifully balanced and focussed – a Chenin triumph!

A robust barrel-matured wine with lavish flavours of dark berry fruit and luscious chocolate mingling with herbal touches and a hint of anise seed on the layered complex finish.

Porters developed as aged strong beers in the early 1700’s consumed by street and river Porters from which the beer derived its’ name. They were closely linked to stouts but were aged at the breweries before being sent out to pubs. This wonderful example is certainly a treat, having won the gold medal at the 2017 Craft Brewers Pow Wow it goes down like silk and leaves you wanting more.

The typical German Weissbeer is handcrafted with 50% of imported wheat malt and a combination of pale and specialty malts. This great beer has a full body and has all the typical banana, clove and other flavours and spices that makes this Weissbier so special. A very slight note from the 2 different varieties of hops underline this well balanced beer. The intense and well defined mashing recipe takes over 5 hours in order to get the full malt character transferred into the beer. The special yeast strain that goes back genetically for well over 100 years ferments this special brew at 18 – 24 degrees for 4-5 days. After that the yeast has been harvested and then the beer matures for 2 weeks at 18 degrees. The natural, unforced carbonation is higher than in a Lager beer and adds to the refreshing taste. 4.5 vol% of alcohol has been worked into this crafted beer from our experienced yeast.

An untypically well balanced English Ale with a beautiful and touching hop aroma. This top fermented ale is brewed with a combination of pale- and specialty Cara malts. 4 different hops from South Africa, Germany and Czech create the perfect hop aromas that will capture your nostrils and will only let go once you had a big nice refreshing sip and then your taste buds will take over. This amber coloured Ale ferments and then taken of the settled yeast it matures until the full English Ale Character is build up to perfection. The mild, natural and unforced carbonation is underlining this distinct character of our English Ale. Its alcohol content is 4.5 vol%.

The absolute hop explosion is waiting for you. This very dominant Indian pale Ale is a one of its kind and not only for connoisseurs. It starts out with a beautiful and extremely wild hop aroma from 5 different Aroma hops. This great bouquet of flavourful aromas take you to the next level of unique beer taste. We have not used any bitterhops for our IPA in order to ensure the overwhelming dominance of the aromatic hop essences. A combination of 3 different malts are giving this special brew the shining amber colour. A top fermenting ale yeast ferments the brew at 17 degrees for 6 days and then it matures with only the most active yeast for 2 weeks. Only then we serve you our unique IPA which is only slightly but of course naturally carbonated. 6 vol% of Alcohol is the result of the great job of our ale yeast.

We have taken the finest South African pale malt and combined it with Specialty Munich and Vienna malt. The best Bitter and Aroma hops from Saaz and Hallertau are giving this light lager beer just enough bitterness and flavour to suit its character. For the fermentation we use a typical Weihenstephaner Lager yeast and the brew ferments between 8-10.5 degrees and matures for over 4 weeks at 2 degrees. This gives the yeast enough time to do their job properly and without stress. It guarantees a smooth and fine creation of a well-balanced beer body. It is the perfect easy drinking Lager beer with only 4 vol-% of alcohol.

Drayman’s Highveld Single Malt Whisky is the first ever Single Malt from the Highveld of South Africa. This potstill whisky is mashed, fermented, distilled and matured in a craft distillery in Silverton, Pretoria – 1600m above sea level. French Oak casks are exclusively used for the maturation. Drayman’s Brewery & Distillery is pleased to introduce “HONIGJÄGER”, the first cask matured honey and whisky liqueur made in South Africa and the most richly flavoured honey liqueur in the world. The finest organically farmed honey, sourced from African Honey Bee and superbly matured Drayman’s Solera Whisky are blended and then stored in French oak casks for a year’s maturation. The result is an explosion of creamy honey on the nose, tempered by rich cellared oak whisky flavours on the palate and a lingering aftertaste of sweet African Bushveld.

At Drayman’s Brewery I brew Düssel Altbier to have an appetizing and brilliantly clear copper-red colour topped by a dense, white, rocky head. Düssel Altbier has a clean, deliciously aromatic, maltiness, combined with a pronounced but not overwhelming hoppy bitterness (32 BU’S) from the noble Tettnanger hops. The fruitiness of the top fermentation is restrained by both the German yeast strain and cool fermentation.

Confusing, to say the least and an often misinterpreted beer style is India Pale Ale (IPA). This style of ale is now also popularized in South Africa amidst the offerings of numerous Craft Breweries. It was brewed originally in the UK by English brewers to be exported for the consumption of thirsty English troops during the colonization of India in 1772 for a brief 30 years. For the lover of real IPA, nothing quite satisfies like the domination of pungent hops on the palate and the long, intense bitter finish.

Altstadt Weissbier has a very rocky, brightly white head deriving from a high proportion of wheat malt. I believe that the drinker himself should decide whether to enjoy his Weissbier with a slice of lemon or not. The lemon surely accentuates the crisp acidity of the wheat beer as well as visually highlighting the refreshing character of the drink.

Jolly Monk has a deep ruby colour, not quite opaque, a medium body and fruity, bittersweet palate. Being brewed with a combination of Black Malt, Amber Malt, Smoked Malt, Caramel Malt and three varieties of hops, Jolly Monk has no difficulty in being a delicious, flavourful beer. Available from the 1st of May each year throughout the colder months to be enjoyed as a winter-warmer. Savour with a smoked ham snack.

Berghof is as pale as a Pilsner but with the delicate fruitiness of an ale. Berghof is light gold in colour and clean tasting with a maltiness that is unmistakably German. A unique yeast strain imparts the flavourfull character and the light body is created by the use of a dash of winter wheatmalt.

An easy drinking beer, malt focused with initial sweetness and a roasted dryness in the finish, when served at very low temperature the roasted character and bitterness may seem more elevated.

‘Sielverkoper’ or ‘soul trader’ harks back to the sly fellow who would recruit sailors onto merchant ships under the pretence of promised fortunes upon their return from Holland - only to sell their earnings while they were away. This wine honours the many hardworking mariners who soullessly travelled the seven seas. Sielverkoper (named for the merchants of "seals" to sailors) is a red blend of rich and dark Syrah, some spicy Mourvèdre, full-bodied Carignan and juicy Grenache noir. It is a rich and complex wine with spicy cigar-box notes and a full mouthfeel. It is ready to drink now, but will age for 8 to 12 years.

This wine is a blend of Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne and Grenache Blanc. The Chenin Blanc adds typical yellow apple and stone-fruit notes, while the Roussane, Grenache blanc and Viognier add complexity, richness, floral notes and white peach. This wine is ready to drink now, but will age well for 5 to 8 years. Leenders Baviaan white blend is named after the mischievous baviaan, meaning baboon in Dutch, who once enjoyed raiding the prized Company's Gardens' fruit under the midnight glow of the full moon.That is, until Leenders kept guard and identified the culprits as he watched them share each others late-night delights.

Armosyn Mourvèdre Rosé is dry with hints of rose-petals and floral notes. Red berries and candyfloss on the nose follow on the palate, with a crisp, but lengthy and full aftertaste. Our rosé wine honours Armosyn (silk in Dutch) van de Caep, the rosy-cheeked maiden who worked in the company lodge and reported directly to Wijnand Leenders himself. Over time, Armosyn acquired property opposite the Company’s Gardens in the Cape.

World Beer Awards Winner – South Africa 2019 This locally made weiss beer is unflitered and true to the style of Bavarian hefeweizen or wheat beer being made with more than 60% wheat malt. This keeps it in line with the German law defining weissbier. We made this beer as authentic as possible using all imported German ingredients of malted wheat and barley, hops and yeast. Kas Bier Weiss is an unfiltered, light bodied, easy drinking beer with light wheat maltiness and banana aroma. Lightly hopped, it will never be bitter but will leave traces of bubblegum flavour lingering in the back of your mouth. Expect a pale golden hue in your glass topped with a frothy white head.

Cheers to the early beer pioneers! To the surprise and delight of early brewers, beer continued to ferment in the dark cellars and icy alpine caves of Bavaria, long after being left there. A delicious new manner of sustenance was discovered. Lager is effervesced with the help of bottom-fermenting yeast. Left to mellow and clear, the resulting rich malt complex liquid is peaked with a firm cloud of foam.

The South African beer market has been flooded by light lagers that are easy drinking but lack distinct character. We are changing that. Our reply is a complex German Märzen Lager – also known as an Oktoberfest Lager. This beer is traditionally brewed in Spring, lagered in cold cellars or caves over the summer, and then served at the Oktoberfest celebration in Autumn. The reddish copper appearance suggests a toasted malty flavour, with bready - toffee notes coming through. It is slightly sweet, but well balanced by a restrained bitterness. This porter appears black when poured into a glass but is a dark rich mahogany colour when held up to the light. Brewed to be a drinkable dark beer full of roasted malt flavours. It also has a smoothness on the palate. African Porter Flavour: Roasted aromas dominate, smoky burnt toast with coffee and dark cocoa notes with hints of toffee.

Weiss beer is a Bavarian specialty. It has an emphasis on the characteristic flavours, produced by the yeast during fermentation. Normally this type of beer is served as a cloudy hefeweiss, this beer is filtered to produce a crystal-clear version of the summer Bavarian favourite. Kristall Weiss Flavour: Characteristic clove and banana fruity esters overlay a bready wheat beer.

The dominant flavours are provided by the speciality malts giving the colour, the biscuity roasted grain flavours and the deep red malty hues when the beer is held up to the light. The hops provide medium bitterness to balance the maltiness, but the focus is mainly on the malt so the hop aroma is very low. Irish Red Flavour: Medium maltiness and roasted malt.

This popular English IPA has the highest alcohol level of all the Swagga brands. The 5.8% alcohol is balanced by a higher hop bitterness and rounded off with a fruity red apple ester. This classic is less assertive (in your face) than an American IPA. English IPA Flavour: Medium maltiness and rich with fruity esters.

A quaffable pale ale with low maltiness and a pleasant hop aroma. This is a beer drinkers’ beer, crisp and refreshing with dryness from burtonised water (very hard brewing water) and some astringency from the hop polyphenols. Country Ale Flavour: Mid strength beer with a good bitterness and East Kent Goldings as a classic English ale aroma hop.

Brewed in the true style of the Californian blonde beers, this is a lightly flavoured beer. It is a very easy drinking beer. It is a hybrid ale (an ale that drinks like a lager) with neither the malt nor the hops dominating the flavour. California Blonde Flavour: Easy drinking with some maltiness, some bitterness and some ester fruitiness.
